This is a science experiment we did with the little kids today. I felt inclined to write about it so that my grandchildren will be impressed. Sorry that it is not exedingly scientific, but you can get the main idea.

Science experiment
What we used:
We used a big, gorgeous, round, orange globe filled with air (called a balloon), little round sassy pieces of paper (like this: O), and Jace’s head.
What we did:
We lifted up the protesting balloon and rubbed it vigorously through Jace’s shiny and silky hair. This caused his nicely combed hair to stand on end with horror. Then the balloon was deposited ungraciously into the air about two inches above the papers (I feel inclined to call them crazies). This caused the crazies to be torn away from their place on the table, screaming, and stick firmly to the thoroughly disgusted balloon.
What happened:
What happened when we rubbed the balloon through Jace’s hair was that the balloon immediately set about invading the hair. It captured all of the negative charges before we took it away. This made it quite negative (not that its attitude wasn’t already). The crazies, being positive, (and also quite crazy) were attracted to the balloon, but soon learned their mistake.
What we learned:
Positive is attracted to negative, even if it doesn’t want to be. Much like a prettty lady being attracted to a grumpy old man. Oh well.
